The Level 2 Sports Trainer course, delivered by Sports Medicine Australia (RTO provider number 110086) further develops the knowledge and skills of a Level 1 Sports Trainer to improve their ability to contribute to safer sporting events and organisations through further learning in concussion and spinal injury management, advanced taping, sport specific massage and triage / first response. Prior to attending the two day face to face course participants must complete two SMA online learning modules (approximately 8 hours pre-course work) which can be accessed via your NRL course room. All candidates who successfully complete the course will receive a digital Level 2 Sports Trainer Certificate and a digital Statement of Attainment for PUAEME004 Provide Emergency Care for Suspected Spinal Injuries, issued by Sports Medicine Australia. Note: Pre-requisites include current first and CPR certification together with evidence of at least 50+ hours of work (paid or unpaid) as a Sports Trainer in the last 12 months.
Pre-Requisites
• Current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid (completed in the last 3 years)
• Current HLTAID001 Provide CPR (completed in the last 12 months)
• Current SMA or NRL Level 1 Sports Trainer qualification (or has been expired less than 6 months)
• Letter of industry experience outline 50 hours work as a Sports Trainer
